Why my Packaging is Boring
What goes into an order?
The Outside
Orders are packaged using 100% recycled mailers and envelopes and can be recycled.
If tape is used it’s 100% recyclable water-activated tape.
Further Steps to Take
Buy a label printer and zero-waste shipping labels.
The Inside
Your order is protected in a glassine bag as a plastic alternative. It is curbside recyclable and made from FSC-certified paper.
Prints are printed by CatPrint on heavy, 100% recycled cardstock.
Business cards are made from cotton; they’re 100% tree-free!
Further Steps to Take
Add a card that details how to recycle your packaging.
Look into getting prints made locally in Humboldt County to reduce carbon footprint.

1/3 of trash in the U.S. is comprised of packaging waste. Tissue paper, ribbons, freebies, stickers, and other “pretty packaging” contribute to this excess waste just to be admired for the first couple minutes of opening your package; not to mention the energy and resources it takes to get these extra goodies made.
I know it might be a little disappointing to receive a package with the bare minimum included; heck, even I like to indulge in pretty packaging reels on Instagram and ‘unboxing’ videos have millions of views on YouTube. In fact, 61% of online shoppers think pretty packaging makes a brand look "upscale," according to this study.
Though my little business may not seem high-end, I hope that you feel good knowing that your order was packaged as sustainably as possible and that your items will have a much longer lifespan than the vessel they came in.
